Central Park

Central Park in the centre of Manhattan, New York is probably the most filmed location in the world. Apart from the amazing landscapes, lakes, recreation activities such as carriage-horse rides, the park also provides sports facilities and has a boathouse. It also hosts concerts and programs such as ‘Shakespeare in the Park’.

In the summer of 2017, we finally picked up a mat, ice-box and a book and went to NYC to spend a relaxing day in the Central Park. This is one place in New York City which gets you away from the hustle bustle of the city and brings you closer to nature.

Below are some of the activities we did during our day long trip. If you haven’t been to Central Park before, you might want to borrow some ideas from here!

Run a central park loop along Reservoir

Make sure to run or walk along a beautiful reservoir overlooking the Upper East Side Manhattan.

Climb up the Belvedere Castle for beautiful panoramic views of the Central Park

A darling of filmmakers, this park has been featured in several famous Hollywood movies, ‘Home Alone’, ‘Serendipity’, ‘Wall Street’ and so on. Not to forget, a scene from Bollywood movie, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta was shot here as well.

Take a break, Lay down the mat and enjoy a peaceful time with your loved ones

Take dreamy pictures in the backdrop of the Bow bridge

It can not get more romantic than this place. Beautiful Bow bridge in the centre of Loeb Boathouse is so picturesque that you can not miss taking pictures and passing under it while enjoying a boat ride in the lake.

Admire the beauty of the ‘Angel of the Waters’ and make a wish at ‘Bethesda Fountain’

Row a boat on Central Park Lake

Stop, Relax and listen to the tunes

Dance to the tunes or just enjoy listening.

Catch the stunning fall colors

Whether it’s the colors in Fall, sun soaking in the summer or enjoying the snow in the winters, Central Park has something for every visitor in every season. A must visit if you live on the East coast in US or are visiting NYC.
